Chris has been working in the Engineering field since 1987, initially working as a surveyor. Finding the engineering industry interesting, he returned to school, first becoming a technologist, and then an engineer, graduating from Lakehead University in 1994 with a B.Eng. in Civil Engineering.

Chris established Nordmin in 2005, and has guided the company through its growth to three offices across Canada with more than 120 employees.

Coming from a mining family, Chris grew up in Sudbury, Ontario, and was the fifth generation of his family to work at the Garson Mine, the first being his great-great grandfather in the 1890’s.

Chris is a noted expert in the design and evaluation of mining infrastructure systems, including shafts, hoisting Systems, materials handling and classification systems, and has either directed or been involved with the design of more than 50 shaft, headframe and hoisting installations around the world.

Kurt has worked in the heavy industrial field since 1989 and graduated from Lakehead University in 1994 with a B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering. After graduation, Kurt worked first with a consulting engineering firm and then worked in progressive roles from Maintenance Engineer to Senior Management within a heavy industrial company from 1996 to March 2007, when he joined Nordmin Engineering Ltd.

Kurt joined Nordmin to lead the mechanical division and became a Principal in the firm in 2008. He is an expert in mechanical and process systems, including process plant design, and the design and commissioning of materials handling, pumping, and ventilation systems.

Marko is a specialist in the design, construction, optimization and commissioning and start-up of process and plant control systems. Graduating from Lakehead University in 1989 he has been working in industry for 25 years. He started his career as a maintenance / project engineer in Gas Transmission and Pulp & Paper prior to beginning consulting for industrial clients including Pulp & Paper, Metal and Minerals Processing and Mining. Most recently Marko has managed and executed several large capital projects including mineral concentrating and processing, hoisting, metals and biomass combustion systems and steam turbine power generation.

Marko was the founding Principal of KMH Engineering, which merged with Nordmin Engineering in 2012. Prior to KMH, Marko worked for TransCanada Pipelines construction managing, commissioning and starting-up compressor stations, thereafter he joined Canadian Pacific Forest Products leading commissioning and start-up efforts for the Newsmill modernization including a new paper machine.

Harold is a company principal and responsible for design and project management of electrical power systems transmission and distribution projects for industrial and utility clients. Harold has a broad range of experience covering all aspects of electrical and control engineering within heavy industrial and utility facilities.

Harold graduated from Lakehead University in 1989, working from graduation until 1999 in heavy industry as an E&C Engineer. He joined KMH in 1999, which subsequently merged became part of Nordmin Engineering Ltd. in 2012.

Greg is one of Nordmin’s Project Managers and Senior Mechanical Engineers and carries a Project Manager Professional (PMP) Certificate as well as Licenses for both Professional Engineering, and Certified Engineering Technologist. A graduate of Lakehead University in 1994 (Bachelor of Engineering – Mechanical) and St. Lawrence College in 1991 (Mechanical Engineering Technology).

With over 20 years of experience, Greg has worked as a Contractor, Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Superintendent and as a Consultant, all in the heavy industrial environment. Greg is proficient in code work including the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes, API Codes, NBIC, ASHRAE and CSA.

Brad is a Project Manager and Technical Design Specialist in the Electrical and Control department at Nordmin. He started his career as in 1995 as an Instrumentation Technician in a paper mill where he spent 7 years maintaining and designing automation systems. He joined Nordmin Engineering (KMH Engineering at the time) in 2002 assuming the role as an Electrical and Control Specialist. Brad has extensive experience in instrumentation and electrical design as well as the design of Burner Management Systems (BMS). He also has extensive experience in field commissioning and start-up often leading these efforts.

Brad is a college graduate with diplomas as an Instrumentation Engineering Technician, Electrical Engineering Technician, Pulp and Paper Technician as well as a certificate in Stationary Engineering 4th and 3rd Class.

Brad has been working in the field of process control and automation in the mining and pulp and paper industries since 1995.

Jared is a Project Manager and Mechanical Engineer at Nordmin.  He is a graduate of British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) in 2009.  He has held roles as a Technologist, Design Engineer, Project Engineer, Applications Engineer and Project Manager, in heavy industrial environments. Jared is proficient in mineral processing and material handling design, best practices and management of multi-disciplinary teams.

Glen has over 26 years of experience in exploration, project development, open pit and underground mining operations and business development across a variety of commodities and mining types/methods including long wall, open cut, cut and fill, long hole, shrinkage and block cave, throughout the Americas, Africa and Australia.

Glen has successfully found and developed large, high grade multimillion ounce deposits utilizing a creative style leadership and is an effective team builder in very diverse cultures through his experiences with Yamana Gold, Mega Precious Metals, Runge, Barrick, Placer Dome, Rea Gold, Noranda and INCO.

Mike has worked as an estimator, designer and contractor around the world, ranging from major potash projects in Saskatchewan to working in Mongolia and elsewhere. Mike’s last position was as a Vice-President of a major contractor, and then President of his own Engineering/Construction firm. His wealth of knowledge based on more than 30 years of experience in practical mining applications is hugely valuable to our clients.

Stan has over 40 years of experience promoting safety, efficiency and cost control to a wide variety of mining activities both in underground and open pit operations, as well as managing mine related construction projects. He has vast experience with establishing a correct and practical approach towards mine design that benefits the feasibility, construction, operation and closure phases related to an ore deposit.

Stan is particularly comfortable with the responsibilities of managing, and thoroughly enjoys the blending of a workforce and departments, engineering firms and contractors to take on the task of delivering a successful project that is operationally safe and efficient.

Andrew has spent a 16+ year career as a Professional Engineer and Manager within the heavy-industrial and institutional construction industries, having the opportunity to lead numerous teams of Professionals in the design, estimating, and execution of hundreds of capital projects. Andrew’s current area of specialization resides in the management of business-risk on large, time-sensitive developments, most notably in the negotiation and management of Prime Agreements and Subcontracts on at-risk, EPC/Design-Build developments as well as in the deployment of workflow, data management, financial systems and processes required for the efficient and safe delivery of construction projects. Through a multitude of evolving roles in Engineering and Construction, Andrew’s efforts have focused across a variety of industry sectors including Mining, Pulp & Paper, Fuel and Materials Handling, Petroleum and Oilsand Energy, Transportation Manufacturing, Urban Institutional High-Rise Construction, and Natural Disaster Assessment/Remediation. With the Nordmin Group of Companies, Andrew engages with the extended Engineering and Geology groups in analyzing designs in terms of constructability and budget-efficiency prior to leading the field execution initiatives for Nordmin’s EPC and EPCM undertakings while managing the Client relationship throughout.

Dan is a Senior Mechanical Engineer and is the General Manager of the Salt Lake City Office. Dan carries a Project Manager Professional (PMP) Certificate as well as Licenses for Professional Engineering in Canada and the US and is a graduate of Lakehead University in 1998 (Bachelor of Engineering - Mechanical). With over 20 years of experience, Dan has worked in the underground mining and forest products industries with duties including maintenance management (supervisor, engineer and superintendent), corporate asset management and project management for both capital construction and engineering projects. Specializing in the integration of safety into the design and operation of underground mining infrastructure, Dan’s practical approach helps deliver projects that meet the needs of all project stakeholders.

Mark is a professional engineer licensed in several provinces across Canada. His approach to each project is to focus on the client’s goals and tailor the structural solution to achieve an integrated building design that responds to those goals. Mark has been involved in the planning, design and project management of structural engineering projects since 2002 and has been with Nordmin Engineering since 2012.

Mark’s specialty is heavy industrial applications, from critical lift designs to safely implementing large component installations on site. His knowledge of numerous construction materials enables him to develop highly efficient structural systems for these diverse projects.

Mark readily delivers detailed mine designs for shafts, hoisting, surface & underground components and supports the projects through to construction completion. He has extensive international engineering experience and has regularly travelled to remote sites to provide engineering assistance to our clients.

Erick is a Department Manager and Senior Electrical and Control engineer, leading a team of 25 plus dedicated professionals. He has a broad range of experience in project management, detailed engineering, programming, cost estimating, purchasing, construction supervision and commissioning of electrical and control systems.

He has been involved in all aspects of electrical and control engineering within heavy industrial facilities and has specialized expertise in the design and implementation of PLC based burner management systems. Erick has been providing process control and automation services to the mining and pulp and paper industries since 1996. Erick joined KMH Engineering in 1999, which subsequently merged to become part of Nordmin Engineering Ltd. in 2012.

Patrick is both a Senior Engineer and Project Manager for Nordmin. A graduate of Lakehead University in 2008 (Bachelor of Engineering – Mechanical) and St. Clair College in 2006 (Mechanical Engineering Technology). With over 12 years of experience, Patrick has worked as an Operator, Maintenance Engineer and Consultant in the heavy industrial environment. Patrick specializes in process piping, HVAC, material handling and mineral processing systems. Patrick has a broad range of experience in project management, design engineering, along with construction supervision and commissioning.

Tim earned a diploma in electronics engineering technology in 2001 and began his career in high-tech electronics manufacturing, including the design and troubleshooting of biometric scanning systems and enterprise computer servers. In 2007, he graduated from Lakehead University with his B.Eng in Electrical Engineering and soon after was hired by ABB in Thunder Bay, changing his focus to power systems. Tim has been licensed as a Professional Engineer through PEO since 2012.

For the past 10 years, Tim has provided field engineering services, engineering design services and power system analysis to heavy industrial clients throughout Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom. He specializes in electrical arc flash and shock risk assessment and regularly provides electrical safety training to industrial clients and work colleagues.
